Apple drops prices of older iPhones, iPhone XR and Watch Series 3. Check latest rates
Ahead of the festive season, Apple has slashed the price of iPhone XR, iPhone XS in India. Cupertino-based smartphone maker unveiled iPhone 11 at a starting price of ₹64,900 on September 10. Following the launch of iPhone 11 series, Apple has dropped the prices of several older iPhone models and Apple watches in the country.
Apple’s recent price drop on older iPhone models are in the range of 10-30%. Among the older models, Apple iPhone XR, Apple iPhone XS and Apple iPhone XS Max — that were launched last year — received a massive price cut.
Apple iPhone XR saw a price drop of ₹27,000 in India. The 64 GB version of Apple iPhone XR is now available at ₹49,900. It was launched at ₹76,900 last year in India. The 128GB variant of Apple iPhone XR will be priced at ₹54,900. Apple iPhone XR was priced at ₹81,900 when it was launched in 2018.
The base model of Apple iPhone XS 64GB is priced at ₹89,900 after a drop of ₹11,000 in India. Apple iPhone XS 256GB will now be available at ₹1,03,900.
“Coupled with a smart pricing for the new and old iPhone ranges, I believe this will enable Apple to maintain its premium brand and continue to grow its installed base of devices,” Thomas Husson, Vice President & Principal Analyst at Forrester told IANS.
The older iPhone models like iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus also received a price cut this time. Apple iPhone 8 64GB variant is available at ₹39,900 while iPhone 8 Plus 64GB will cost ₹49,900 from now on.
Similarly, Apple dropped the price of different versions of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7Plus. Apple iPhone 7 32 GB is priced at ₹29,900 after the recent slash, whereas Apple iPhone 7 128 GB will be available at ₹34,900. Apple iPhone 7Plus 32GB will cost ₹37,900 and Apple iPhone 7Plus 128 GB is now available at ₹42,900.
Apple has also cut the price of Apple Watch Series 3. It is available at ₹20,900.
